There's A Lot Of Wolly Worms This Year! Have You Read Your Farmer's Almanac?

I've seen a lot of wolly worms this year, and Wolly Wormthey are really wolly! Does that mean we are in for a cold and snowy winter? Or is it something about the stripes? I can't remember.

I grew up on a dairy farm and my mom and dad always believed that kind of stuff. He would only plant the garden during the right phase of the moon and he read the Farmer's Almanac. All I can say is we always had a lot of fresh vegetables from the garden!

Fresh veggies sound wonderful!! I planted a few lettuce seeds this year that are sprouting.  Hopefully, by late Nov. we'll be picking our own lettuce each evening! :)

Betty - Tim picked up several VERY large snow removal accounts this winter, including all the area Lowe's.  I say LET IT SNOW!!!  :)  These accounts required us to spend an incredible amount of money in trucks, plows and spreaders, so I checked the Farmer's Almanac to see what they predict this winter.  I was very surprised to see that they are predicting very little snow.  According to them, we will have a big snow in November, December and February, but the amounts will be lower than usual.  I hope they're wrong!  I suppose we'll see.

I've seen a large amount of these pretty Wolly Worms as well. I don't know what the Farmers Almanac is saying, but I will tell you that we had our first snow fall and we've had some pretty cold nights.
