This is an amazing old home.
Built in 1866 it is one of the oldest homes in Springfield MO. We showed it to a client yesterday and as we toured the home we discovered some old newspapers on the floor. They were only revealed because someone before us had rolled back the linoleum floor. (no vinyl here!) The papers were dated 1952, which is still a lot newer than the home. I snapped a few pictures with my phone. One of them is an ad advertising the 2nd largest herd of performing elephants in America coming to perform at a circus!
I wonder what other mysteries or hidden gems are in this home? As I walked through this home I imagined all the things that might have gone on in this grand old home. Its now in great disrepair and desperately needs a lot of work and restoration. It would be a perfect bed and breakfast or family home. Its for sale for only $29,900. I hope it finds a new owner soon.
