Home sales have been for the past few years and a sizable amount of sold homes have been foreclosures and short sales. Our market hasn't been as nearly bad as many other parts of the country, but we have felt the pain as well. New home construction has been down since it has cost more to build than to buy existing homes.
So what are our predictions for 2012? We are seeing encouraging signs! Interest rates are unbelievably low, prices are affordable, and inventory of homes for sale has come down. Even better news, our phone has been ringing and buyers and sellers are actively using our real estate website to search for Springfield homes for sale and to find information about listing their homes. This is encouraging since its only February. Home prices will stay flat but hopefully will not drop. If you have been sitting on the fence when it comes to buying or selling a home, we think now is the time to take action!
